Monday 19/09/16 Day 9 Fortescue Bay. Sorry for the break in transmission, we had no phone coverage so I couldn't blog and then the last few days of the trip were full on so no time to get it down on the blog. Here we go...
We sat around for the early part of the morning, just relaxing, watching wildlife and enjoying the warmth of the OzPig...we'd be lost without it!
Soon, it was time to pack up and head back up the dirt tracks and over to Hobart. Unfortunately, it rained just before we got Pearl locked down so she's wet! We have one more night to camp to hopefully she'll get packed away dry then.
.On our way to Hobart, we called into Frogmore Creek Wines and OMG, we had a beautiful lunch. This is Gus's entree - chargrilled scallops, spanner crab salad, avocado, asparagus, crispy serrano, 42degrees sparkling and vanilla cream...
We both had the slow cooked pork belly, pulled park croquette, potato crisps, rhubarb compote, pickled cabbage, apple puree, piccalilly mayonnaise for main...
My dessert, which we shared was a chai creme brulee, banana bread crumble, freeze dried pineapple and honey-sesame ice cream... Magnificent!
Onward to Hobart to our boutique accomodation at the Islington Hotel. A rather quirky and quaint place with about 12 rooms...
Our dinner was prepared by the resident chef in a little kitchen where we could see her churning out the meals... Gus had the gnocchi...
